I Love My Whirley-Pop!

There is one appliance in our kitchen that gets so much love, it has become a permanent fixture on our stove-top:  The Whirley-Pop!

Yes - we are hooked on popping our own corn on the stove!
The ingredients are really simple - oil and kernels.  We like to buy the buttery oil and we are a big fan of Orville Redenbacher's kernels.

Directions are easy - squirt 3 tablespoons of oil in the popper to coat the bottom.  Add 1/2 cup of kernels.  Turn the stove on high and crank the handle until the popping stops.  Be careful when you pour the popcorn into a serving bowl - hot steam will come flying out and can burn your hand - trust me, I know.  You can add toppings to the popcorn - our favorites are a few more squirts of the buttery oil (just like at the movies!) and regular old table salt.  Yum!  Once you try it, you will be hooked!
