Wedding Wednesday - The Veil

The Veil.  When I first got engaged, I was fairly certain that I did not want to wear a traditional veil for my wedding.  I envisioned some other cute hairpiece, but definitely not a veil.  However, that theory just flew out the window the first time a bridal shop consultant placed a veil on my head "just to see what it looks like".  I caught the fever and I caught it bad.  In fact, I went from no veil to a full length cathedral veil!  It really just completed the look and I absolutely love all the fun pictures we got as a result of my change-of-heart.

Once again, all pictures are courtesy of WhiteKlump Photography.

When I first started looking at veils, I was blown away by the prices at my local bridal shops - over $100 for a piece of tulle with beads?  That sounded like craziness to me, so what did I do?  I hit up ebay and found this shop.  I waited until the veil I wanted was up for bid and scored it for under $20!

The veil was cathedral length (108") with a blusher (30").  It had beaded edging on both tiers.  I love the soft, delicate look it portrays.
It allowed for some fun shots:

And some romantic ones too:

The hardest part of the day was keeping that thing under control because it was so windy!!

So there is is - the veil that almost wasn't.  Next week I'll reveal the not so surprising place I found that beautiful headband - for under $6!!
