Patrick's Chicken Teriyaki Bowl

Patrick was on dinner duty tonight and I was so impressed with his super simple creation, I just had to share.  His inspiration was the chicken broccoli bowl from Crazy Bowls and Wraps.  I didn't get pictures of all the steps, but it is pretty foolproof.

2 chicken breasts

2 cups of white rice
1 bag of frozen broccoli
KC Masterpiece Honey Teriyaki marinade
Schnucks Teriyaki wing sauce

We baked the chicken breasts on Sunday in a teriyaki marinade.  We used KC Masterpiece Honey Teriyaki marinade.

After the chicken was finished baking and cooling, we saved it in our fridge to use later in the week.

1.  Prepare 4 servings of white rice per the directions on the box on the stovetop.
2.  While the rice is cooking, steam 1 bag of broccoli in the microwave.
3.  Slice 2 baked & marinated chicken breasts into 1 inch strips.
4.  Layer the finished ingredients in a bowl.
5.  Drizzle with teriyaki sauce.
6.  Enjoy!

  1. oooh! That looks so good! I am not a fan of broccoli, but for some reason it always tastes good as chinese food! I am definitely keeping this in mind for a dinner idea sometime! :)

  2. I'm no master chef. In fact, I really don't like to cook. I wish I did though. Anyway, I do have one fabulous teriyaki recipe that is better than any store-bought one you can fine. I tried lots of recipes, and this one was easily the best! We use in on salmon. It doesn't take too long and isn't difficult to make.

    Teriyaki Sauce

    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/3 c. soy sauce
    2 Tbsp. hoisin sauce
    2 Tbsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. garlic
    1 Tbsp. lime juice
    2 Tbsp. onion
    pinch of red pepper flakes

You don't need to chop things too small because you strain it after it has finished cooking.

Combine everything in a small pot and bring to boil.

Let boil and bubble until it begins to thicken.

I'd love to hear from you!
