Super Easy Fresh Fruit Salad

This weekend, I made two tubs of fresh fruit salad to take to Patrick's aunt's house for a pool party.  I love fruit salad in the summer - it is so refreshing!

Here is what I created:

And here is what I used:
Canned Fruit
2 cans of pineapple chunks
2 cans of sliced peaches (which I sliced down even further)
1 can of mandarin oranges
1 can of sliced pears (which I sliced down even further)

Fresh Fruit
2 kiwis
2 apples (not sure what kind - I stole them from my mom's house)
1 large banana
2 handfuls of red grapes
6 large strawberries
2 handfuls of blackberries

Even though I love fresh fruit, I always use some canned fruit mainly for convenience (I hate cutting pineapple) and to get a good juice base for the fruit salad.  I choose my fresh fruit based on availability and price.  For example, this weekend at the grocery store, the small cartons of blackberries were on sale 10/$10 so I bought one small carton.  However, the same size carton of raspberries were $4 each - so no raspberries for my fruit salad.  I like to provide a good mixture of flavors and colors.  This combinination was a sure winner!
