I'm trying something new today by linking up with Jen over at the Conversion Diary. This format will give me the opportunity to give you all my random thoughts in a quick fire way.
My little angel is now 3 weeks old! I can't believe that she has been in our lives for that long. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. I'm working on writing out her birth story (if anyone cares to read it) but those will be separate longer posts. There is so much I want to document about her early life before I forget.
We had her newborn photos taken 2 weeks and there are sneak peak pictures up on Facebook. They all turned out so good. I can't wait to get the full CD of photos in the mail. If you are in the St. Louis area, check out JHeart Photography. Jen was wonderful to work with and has very reasonable prices. Here are my favorites:
Did you see those pictures of that precious little baby? I still can't believe she is mine. I just can't wrap my mind around the miracle of her birth. I carried that child for 9 months and now she is here. God is good.
So, this being a mom thing is hard work. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love our little Claire Bear but being home alone with her all day can be tough. Yesterday, we did some tummy time on her play mat, read a book, went for a walk and even took her first trip to the grocery store. She really doesn't mind tummy time and she absolutely loves riding in her stroller. If you want her to stop crying, just strap her in the car seat and take her for a ride. Bad news is, mom can only walk for so long before she gets pooped. And as soon as the stroller stops moving, she knows. She's going to be a smart one....
The good news is, I have a great husband. Wednesday was particularly rough - she was so fussy and wouldn't nap at all. Patrick knew I was worn out and he came home with a slice of my favorite cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory. Yum! $8 never tasted so good.
I packed up all my maternity clothes yesterday. Okay, that's a slight lie - I did keep out one pair of maternity leggings because they are just SO comfortable. I'm still up about 10 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight, but I'm sure that will eventually fade away. Even though I am able to squeeze into my favorite skinny jeans, my body is just not the same and I'm not sure it will ever be "normal" again. Whatever normal really is. It's just different and that probably makes me sound very vain but that's okay.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
